Your Guide

Anil Sarkoglu was born in 1985, Istanbul.

He joined Yildiz Technic University Mountaineering Club (YTUDAK) - which is one of the most sophisticated mountaineering clubs in Turkey with the principal of training mountaineers to achieve considerable technical climbs. After having finished 2 years of mountaineering education and trainings, he became an active member of the club and he voluntarily served as an instructor for many years. Depending on his availability, he still continues to share his experience and provides trainings for the beginners at YTUDAK. He is also a member of YDK Mountaineering Association at which he actively plays a role since its foundation, 2006.

He graduated from University as an Industrial Engineer and nevertheless, made his choice of career aligned with his passion for mountains. He is co-founder of the company "Eiger Training & Consulting" a company which offers corporate firms experimental education, motivational team work activities, exclusive projects and productions. Additionally, in 2013, he established "Adventure Experts" an adventure travel tours organization company.

He works as an alpinism equipment consultant for the most well known, market leader outdoor shopping brand in the country.

Along with his recent decisions, he is focused on only his mountaineering career. He spends most of his time climbing and guiding.

He has hundreds of successful climbs in the country and abroad. Here are some of his recent high altitude and technical climbs;

Mount Ararat (5137m) / Turquie

Mount Elbrus (5642m) / Russia

Mount Demavend (5671m) / Iran

Peak Lenin (7134m) / Kyrgyzstan

Khan Tengri (7010m) / Kyrgyzstan

Especially in the last years, he enjoys climbing in the region of Ala-Archa, Tian Shan and valley of Chong-Kurchak in Middle Asia.

Besides many of his first ascents of new rock, ice and mixed climbing routes; along with his partner he discovered and made the first ascent of the longest water ice climbing route in Turkey. (Erzurum)

He willingly makes inspiring presentations and give trainings upon respectable requests.

As well as mountaineering, he has expertise knowledge in Search and Rescue and advanced first-aid. He is also interested in radio and wireless communication systems, leisure captaincy, scuba diving, cycling and motorcycling.

He lives in Istanbul and Bishkek.

Mount Elbrus is a mountain located in the western Caucasus mountain range, in Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia, Russia, near the border of Georgia, in the northern Iranian plateau. A stratovolcano that has lain dormant for about 2000 years, it is the highest mountain in the Caucasus. Mount Elbrus (west summit) stands at 5642 meters (18510 ft) and is the highest point of Russia. The east summit is slightly lower: 5621 meters (18442 ft).
