Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Hi all,

On a year sabbatical trip, I´ll be heading to Nepal March 20th, staying couple days in Kathmandu to enjoy Holi Nepal festival, after to Pokhara to initiate the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek (ABC), about 10-12 days, say March 26th to April 6th, flexible.

I plan to do the trek independently, eventually with a guide/porter, looking for people to enjoy the trek in company and some safety.

To myself, I am Spanish, 34, no expert in the mountain, with minor previous trek experience but fit football player, runner, climber.

  1. Hi Felipe,
Nice to read about you and trip ideas. We are two friends going for Annapurna Base Camp, we have done EBC before in 2012, we are meeting in Kathmandu on 24th March, it will take total 17 days. Let us know if you want to join us, you can find details here I am looking for like-minded people to join me on this exciting trek. we have good deal of USD 860 per person , if we can reach 5 or more people we can get more discount. Let us know if you would like to join us.

    • Hi Raj,

sorry for late reply, I tried some time ago but the same wouldnt let me.

I finally arranged ABC via iTrek Nepal.

      Might find you around.

  2. Hi Felipe! I’m planning to do pretty much the same trip. Arrive in Nepal on 21 March and fly out again on 9 April, so I’m intending to do the ABC trek within that time with a few days spare on either side for other activities. So I am reasonably flexible on dates.

I’m from the UK, no real trekking experience but pretty fit etc. Would be great to have some company on the trek!

    • Hi Jocelyn,

after good thought and chat with a nr of people, including good friend, I have arranged the ABC with iTreak Nepal (very good recommendation from my friend). They are very flexible to accommodate budget depending on your needs and requirements.

I will do Kathm 21 to 23 (including Bhaktapur and maybe Nagarkot with a bike); 24 to Pokhara; trek 25 to 3, then most probably stay in Pokhara until 7th and bike around the valley.

Let me know if you would like to join and I can put you in contact with them.

  3. That is actually one of the agencies I have been looking at! I had been considering doing the scheduled ABC trek starting 22 March, is that the one you’re doing or are you organising your own tailored itinerary? Always good to go with an agency that comes recommended, there are just so many to choose from!

  4. That might be it. They start 22nd in Kathmandu and organize a full pack both ways, including all hotels, transport and activities in Kat and Pok. I have booked my own cheaper hotel options (other than the ones during the trek itself) to save some cost and have more flexibility.

  5. Hi Felipe,

I am planning the ABC trip too. Starting from Pokhara on March 29th and Back by April 8th. my dates are not that flexible. this is my first trek and I plan to do this independently. I am from India and working in United States. It would be awesome if I could find some company 🙂

  6. Hi Felipe,
I am hoping to do the Poon Hill trek starting on 3/26 (tomorrow). Are you leaving today or tomorrow?
