Annapurna Circuit Trek

Hi all,
my name is Sophie, I am from Australia and planing to trek the Annapurna circuit without a guide, starting on the 11th of April – however am flexible on this date.
I m going to fly to Kathmandu on the 9th and planning on spending the 10th in Kathmandu getting permits etc.
I have some trekking experience and consider myself generally pretty fit – however have only trekked at low altitude. As I am only in Nepal for 14days I do have time restrictions, therefore will have to consider trekking various stages, but am also flexible about which stages and am also considering alternte detours such as Tilicho Lake.
I’m friendly, easy going and would love a trekking partner to share the experience with and have a chat as we go 🙂

  1. Hi Sophie!

I’m Jenny,24 from England. I’m just back from the Poon Hill trek and am now looking to start the circuit in a few days – do you have a planned start date yet? I am also on a budget and was planning to go without a Porter or guide, I met lots of people doing similar on the poon hill section, and it is all very clearly signposted.

A little about me, I graduated a couple of years ago in History and English, worked in travel and now I ‘ve been traveling around the world for about 9 months 🙂

Let me know how your plans shape up and safe journey over to Kathmandu 🙂

  2. Hi girls,

I think that you both commented on mine and Laura’s thread.
Laura is starting the trek on Sunday (10th) and me with two friends on the 11th. I am currently in Pokhara. We hope to meet Laura along the way 🙂
It’s better to whatsapp me on this number because internet is scare here and whatsapp downloads faster than getting on a website. Hopefully you can reach me on this number: 00447599418506
If we can make it work, would love for you to join us!

    Julia 🙂

    • Hi girls this all sounsds great! Julia I just replied to your whatsapp hopfully hear from you soon.
Jenny your more than welcome to join also, would love a trekking buddy as also keen to do it without a guide. I arrive in Kathamdu today and will have the night and Sunday there getting permits etc then leaving for Besi Sahar Monday morning (hopfully meeting up with Julia there).

I’m also keen to jeep as far as Bhulbule or even Ghermu / Syange as I am limited with time and wouldn’t mind doing a detour via Lake Tilicho or even the first few days of the second half of the circut – but I’m also flexible and open for suggestions.
hopefully it works in with you my whatsapp is +61488069715

We’re hopefully leaving from Pokhara ro Besi Sahar and then a jeep even further on Monday morning. I don’t know how it’ll work out because now there are quite a lot of people interested… Coming from ktm, you’ll only get into Besi Sahar late on Monday and i’m not sure you’ll be able to get very far after that to come & meet us.
If you look through the other messages, some people are still in ktm – perhaps see if you can meet with them? 🙂
