Annapurna Circuit Trek

I’m Steve, a 33 year old from Scotland, currently living in London.
This will be my first visit to Nepal! Hoping to find a few others to share the experience with.
I’ve got a fair amount of walking experience and would say I’m reasonably fit. I’m not looking to hire a guide or porter, but am not totally opposed to the idea.

I don’t have much flexibility with dates, I’ll be arriving into Kathmandu on Friday 11th November and plan to take a bus to Besisahar or Bhulbhule on the Sunday. From there I’m allowing 13 days to get to Jomsom (with 2/3 days for resting and side trips), then fly out to Pokhara on the 26th. Alternatively, if I have enough time, I’ll continue on to Tatopani and get a bus from there.

I’d rather seek out comfy and characterful guest houses (if there are any on the AC) rather than budget basement ones.

  1. Hi Steve, I am planning to arrive in Kathmandu on Friday, 11th as well, haven’t booked anything yet, but want to do the Annpurna Circuit without a guide and a porter as well, A friend of mine has already done it, so I have plenty of informations and I am experienced in montaineering. I have 3 weeks time for the circuit, but we could definitely start together walk for a couple of days if you are interested? Cheers from Vienna-Egon

    • Great. I’ve just messaged you

  2. Hi Steven and Egon

I get to khatmandu on the 9th November and I’m looking to do the Annapurna.

I’d be happy to come along with you for a bit if you wanted some extra company. I’m pretty flexible, just looking into things just now

    I’m 35/male, from Scotland

    Thanks

    Douglas

    • Hi Douglas,
My plan is still the same. Hoping to do all the ‘admin’ – bus ticket, permits and some last minute kit purchases in Kathmandu on the 12th. You’re welcome to get involved

  3. Hi Douglas,
cool, but I had to postpone my travel dates, therefor I will arrive in Kathmandu on the 18th November and start my trekking on the 20th. If this suits to you, we can definitely link up!
    cheers-egon

  4. Hi Steven,

I arrive Kathmandu on the 12th morning and will hopefully be getting my “admin” stuff that day as well, if possible. Would love to meet up and I might eventually head up to lake tilicho before heading over to jomsom but would love to start off together with someone.

    • Hi Aaron,
I’ve considered the Tilicho option, but probably just as a side trip from Manang before coming back to go over Thorong La. I’ll see how it goes over the first few days on the trail. Starting off together sounds good, I’ll message you

  5. Hello Steve

Have you decided a date yet? I am actually in Pokhara and ready to make the trek. I am waiting for other people because it is more fun. I am a 26 years old French man. Do not hesitate to contact me back and may be we can meet before, or you can send me directly the departure date,

Have a good day and see you!!

  6. Hey guys! You re still planning to start the trek on the 13th? I just arrived in Pokhara, travelling solo and looking for some trekking partners to do the Anna Purna Circuittrek. It could be cool to join you! I m a bit the same, like not a lot of trekking experience, but pretty good in shape. So if you re interested in having a girl in your group as well, then let me know 😉

    • Just pm’d you

  7. @Steve I can t read your message on my phone.. probably because you should add me first? My last name is Kruize.
