Annapurna Circuit Trek

Arriving in Kathmandu 17 December 2017 and flying out of Kathmandu on the 5th, so this is about 17 days give and take to take a bus to Pokhara then to Besihar and do the walk from there on to Josom, then fly back to Pokhara or direct to Kathmandu. No tangible plan in terms of where I’d like to be on any given day and if I am honest I always prefer to do things quite spontaneous. If you are up for that and have roughly the same schedule please do let me know and let us work something out. I am open to suggestions or ideas.

Regards
Karlo

  1. Hi Karlo, how are you? My name is Christian and I am also planning to walk the Annapurna circuit in December. I arrive in Kathmandu on the 12th and like you have no real schedule. While I’ve been doing a bit of research I think I’ll have a better feel for it once I’m there. My main reason for buddying up with someone would be for safety with regards to AMS and for the day crossing Thorung la. I have plenty of time up my sleeve and won’t be rushing. I have some things I’d like to see in and around Kathmandu and a day to pick up some things for the walk so our times may coincide. Though I may arrive keen to get going in which case I may be a day or two ahead of you. But a bit of a side trip or a day in pokhara and you’d probably be in or around the same area. Like I say I have no concrete plans and like yourself I think a bit of spontaneity is the way to go. While I’m quite happy and confident enough to wander about the mountains by myself I imagine traveling with another, especially in the higher altitudes makes good common sense. Apart from that a bit of conversation a few laughs in between what I’m certain is going to be an awesome experience would be cool with me. So Karlo, if it sounds like we’re around about on the same page and you would like to ask me any questions or kick around a few ideas feel free to drop me a line.
    Cheers Christian.

    • Hi Cristian, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I am very well, thanks! How are you?

I completely agree, and I think we can try work something out.

Can I send you an email or are you on WhatsApp messenger perhaps we can chat?

      Thanks, Karlo

  2. Hi Karlo, I’m quite interested in your plan. I may take the vacation in the last 2 weeks of December and we could do the hiking together. I’ll contact you on Instagram once I have booked the flight. Thanks.

    • Hi Yuankai, thanks for your message. Please do! Or maybe I can send you an email or a message through WhatsApp messenger if it works with you?

      Thanks, Karlo

  4. Hi Karlo,
We are flying in to Kathmandu on the 16th of December and out on the 4th.

We are going to trek the Annapurna Circuit independent (i.e. no guide or porters), but it would of course be nice with some additional company along the way.

We have no fixed itinerary, but aim to leave Kathmandu on the 17th and take a bus to Pokhara or directly to Besihar in order to have as much time on the trek as possible.

Perhaps you will be able to catch up with us along the way!

    Regards,
    Emelie and Fredrica

    • Hi Emilie and Fredrica

The timing is almost identical! Yes, catching up with you is possible!

Won’t have a guide or a porter too (or, maybe I would just before I pass Thorong La for safety reason haha) so some company would be ideal

      Thanks, Karlo

  6. Hi Karlo,

I am also interested to join the trek but i might have 5days only in Annapurna circuit since I’ll just be traveling to nepal for 10 days from 18 Dec- 28 Dec. flying out at night on dec 28.

So hoping to catch up with you.

    Jessie

    • Hi Jessie

      Thanks for your message.

Five days might not be sufficient to do the trail but please do not take my word for it.

If you can add a few more days to your trip then I think it’s better so you are not rushing and worrying about missing a flight 🙂

I will forward you my contact dets and a rough itenerary.

      Regards
      Karlo

  7. Hi Karlo,

It sounds like you have quite a crew going right now, but if you have room for one more I would be keen to join you! I’ve never done anything like this before and I’m hoping to find someone to show me the ropes. A friend mentioned it wasn’t neccessary to hire a guide so I thought I would reach out to you. I’m arriving in Kathmandu on the 12th and have no time line, I’ll be staying in Nepal for two to three months. I was planning on heading to Pokhara straight away, so I could potentially meet you there.

    Thank you!
    Amanda

    • HI Amanda

As I was reading your note I thought you were gonna say two or three weeks…. but then… months! Wow, I’m so jealous.

I plan to leave KTM on the 18th/19th depends on how quick I get the permits. I then catch up with Emilie and Fredrica (above) as far as Chame because they are likely a day or two ahead of me. I haven’t heard back from Christian and Yuankai above yet but they might join.

I will send you my contact details and a rough itinerary.

      Thanks, Karlo
