Annapurna Circuit Trek

Hey guys,

I’m arriving in Kathmandu on April 13th. I’m still doing research now, but could probably get to Pokhara on the 15th at the earliest.

I’ve done several of 3-5 day hikes in NZ and at elevation, so I’m fairly confident to do the thing without a guide / porter, but would consider it if it’s preferable for you.

Don’t let me be that loner in the mountains!

  1. Hey, I will arrive in Kathmandu on the 13th of April and I wanna do the circle for 3 weeks as well. I have never done trekking like this but I would do it without a guide/porter as well.
Where do you wanna stay during the trek? Guesthouses and homestays? What about your budget?

    • Hey Stephi,

Yep guesthouses and home stays are the plan, I’m easy on the budget, do you have a budget?

Also I’ll be staying with a friend’s family in Kathmandu, we could meet up there to get stuff sorted?

  2. yepp same for me, guesthouses and homestay 🙂 i am short on budget. okay lets met in kathmandu! 🙂 are you on facebook or do you use whatsapp?

  3. Hey Rowan. Im from NZ too, arriving in Kathmandu on the 16th. I would love to join you guys as Im pretty nervous going solo.

  5. Hey Rowan

I don’t know if you guys are OK with another guy in your group but I will be reaching around the 14th-15th. I work for a Stanford project in India and wanna take time off after spending a really long time working in the field. Lemme know if you are OK with another person in the group. I will be staying in this hostel called Alobar 1000 in Thamel. Drop me a message if you’re cool with travelling together.

    • Hey man sure! I’ll pm you

  6. Hi,

I just arrived to Kathmandu today. Would really like to hear about your plans. I might not be doing the whole circuit but if i understood right there is an option to come back from some point.

I havent done any trekking solo (but in Finland) so would really like to join the others if possible. Im also a little bit low on budget so those $1000+ treks are not for me…

What do you think, would it be possible to meet at Kathmandu? Im staying at Himalayan travellers Inn at Thamel. Dont have a local phonenumber yet, but nurminik at gmail com works. I dont have any fixed dates (1 way ticket from Europe) so im quite flexile with the plans…

  7. Hey Rowan, we’re leaving on the 16th, so we’d love company if you’re leaving that day. Otherwise, you might catch up to us in a few days – we’re planning on taking it slow in the beginning. Keep an eye out for us – me with a dark green and her with a blue backpack with patches that say United Squirrel Army on them.

    Happy trails!

    • Hey Eugene!

We’re leaving fon Kathmandu for Besi Sahar tomorrow, so might be a day or two behind you guys. We’ll keep an eye out cheers!

  8. Hei. I just arrived in Pokhara and I’m looking for a Partner as well. I’d prefer hiking without a guide and porter as I’ve done some trecke and I heard its not that hard without a guide. I’d need to start in two to four days.

So let me know what you guy’s are thinking.
