Annapurna Circuit Trek

Hey there!

I’m Laura, I’m 25 and I come from Italy. I will be arriving in Nepal on 1st September and leaving on 21st Sept, starting off with a visit of the Kathmandu valley and Bhaktapur 🙂

My plan is to leave the Kathmandu valley around the 6th-7th September to do the Annapurna circuit trek. My plans are still not super-defined yet as I would rather arrive in Nepal and see on the ground prices and options, but I have some contacts with guides from friends who have been to Nepal already 🙂

If you are thinking about doing the Annapurna Circuit Trek around the same dates as me, feel free to shoot me a message and we can try to organize together!

  1. Hi Laura!
My name is Gabby. I’m 23 and come from Alaska. I’ll be arriving in Kathmandu on the 31st Aug. and leaving on the 18th Sept. I had a similar thought about wanting to check out the prices and options once I’m actually in Nepal, but I would love to organize together to have a hiking buddy and to share a guide for the circuit 🙂

  2. Hi Laura and Gabby,
I understand that you are interested and you want to trek in Nepal.
We have been planning to Mardi himal trek in Annapurna Region . To me it looks perfect ,since its relatively easy short but with breathtaking view of Annapurna ranges and also good elevation gain over a ridge overlooking Annapurna Base Camp and also easy for first timers since its not that long and difficult.
We will be starting on 10th from pokhara..
If you are interested ,you can always tag along, since we will be travelling individually and just hire a guide.
We would only need to get our own permit and passes from Kathmandu and find teahouses ,places to sleep along the way and also save a lot of money on useless packages.
    hope to hear from you.
    Cheers,
    Bonny Gomes

    • Hi Bonny!

Thank you for the proposal, my idea was to have a trek which would be as biodiverse as possible, so if I manage I would prefer doing the Circuit 🙂

I’ll write you in case I have a change of plans!

  3. Hi Laura,
I’m interested in joining you and Gabby for an ABC trek. My name is Layla and will be flying from London. I can be in Khadmandu 6th/7th September and do the trek with you.
I can leave as late as 21 September.
@Gaby: Thank you for replying to my message the other day. I saw your message and read it quickly then when I wanted to reply couldn’t find the post anymore..

    Thanks,
    L

    • Hey Layla!

I am talking to Gabby on chat, so you won’t see my reply on the thread, but the plan for now is that Gabby is going to meet a guide this weekend and I am going to meet another one to hear about itinerary and costs – then we are going to debrief and see which are the options and if we can coordinate 🙂

I’ll write you a message with the details of the itinerary I have for now!

  6. Hi Laura (and Gabby?)

I am going to start the Annapurna circuit on about the 5th or 6th of September. My plan is to just start the trek solo and meet people to hike with for some or part of the way en route. I am not much of a social media person but I when you said the biodiversity was a big driver of the trip for you, I thought it was worth a reply.

I am a 40-ish male South African ecologist, who stops without warning for plants, insects, moss etc. I am in Nepal for two months, have just arrived in Pokhara (and have gear, permits etc to sort out), and am quite flexible about time and routes. I prefer loose arrangements for trekking, in case speed of walking etc is not compatible. I understand there will be many on the AC, so safety should not be an issue, and we need only firm pairs or parties for the more serious sections (e.g. Thorong La).

Anyway, let me know if any of this sounds compatible, particularly random stops and chats about plants, rocks and bugs, and we can see if we can line up dates and logistics. Otherwise, perhaps I will meet you along the trail.

    Go well
    Peter
