Annapurna Circuit Trek

I am starting the Annapurna circuit between 7th and 10th September. My plan is to just start the trek solo and meet people to hike with for some or part of the way en route. However, I would happily like to make contact with others to:
– share transport from Pokhara to Besisahar (and beyond).
– start out on the trail together, but be changes to the group brought about by side trips, different walking pace or style, too many Dad jokes etc.
– discuss any aspect of this trip with others who have done it or are about to.

I am a 40-something male South African ecologist, prone to stopping without warning for plants, insects, rocks etc. I have traveled and trekked on every continent: some of the travelling would qualify as epic, but none of the trekking has been truly epic thus far. I would prefer a group without a guide, and no porters, and shoestring to mid-range in terms of spending.

I am in Nepal for two months, have just arrived in Pokhara (and still have some gear, permits etc. to sort out). I am quite flexible about time and routes, but prefer loose arrangements for trekking. I understand there will be many on the AC, so safety should not be an issue, and we need only firm pairs or parties for the more serious sections (e.g. Thorong La).

Tangentially related: I have finally have to admit that my Scarpa, full leather, boots are too small for me, and I am looking to trade/swap these for something that will do the job but that is a size bigger (e.g. UK 10.5). Any ideas appreciated.
