Everest Bas Camp via Gokyo Lakes & Cho la Pass

I plan to arrive in Kathmandu on Saturday 24th November with our trek departing on Monday 26th. The trek will generally follow the Gokyo Lakes route up to Everest Base Camp and back to Lukla to return to Kathmandu on 13th December. I have organised to take the trek at a leisurely pace with additional acclimatisation days in the Gokyo lakes area and Gorek Shep. I am an amateur photographer so planning to use these days for shorter hikes in the area and spend some time taking in the beautiful scenery through the lens. The company I have organised the tour through is used by Lonely Planet for their own guides and at the moment its a bespoke trek with guides and sherpas for just myself, but i’m looking for a fun loving trekking partner to join me. Preferably would be great if you’re based in the UK, I’m in London myself, and we can meet up a couple of weekends for practice treks and a few drinks, you know to make sure we wouldn’t get on each other’s nerves half way up a mountain. I am happy to be the interface between the trekking company and yourselves to bring the trek together. Look forward to hearing from you and wish you the best in your adventures! 🙂

PS the budget quoted below includes hotel stays on each side in Kathmandu at a 4* hotel so can be adjusted for your own needs.

  1. Hi, I might be interested in joining you… the earliest I could be in Kathmandu, however, would be the 26th November I think (somewhat depends on unsettled things at work!)

I want to go with a guide I used before but that wouldn’t prevent us from saving a bit of money on a porter which we could share. I need about 6-8kg of stuff to be carried and the rest I can manage.

I’m not based in the UK but I am British. You can read my profile to find out more about me. We may bump into each other somewhere in the mountains regardless!
