Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes Trek

Hi, I will be in Nepal from 13. to 29. April, and want to hike up to Gokyo Lakes during that time (no guide, no porter). I’m planning to take the flight to Lukla on 14th.

I’ve hiked a fair bit here and there, but not at so high altitude as this, so want to take it easy with the acclimatization. Oh and I take plenty of photos, so that’ll probably slow me down a bit, ha. Depending on how long it takes to get up there and see the area, from Gokyo I was planning to hike back through either Renjo La or Cho La pass. I read it sometimes gets pretty hairy up there on Cho La, so might be nice to team up with someone for that though.

About me: I’m 28, from Finland and living in Copenhagen, and pretty easy-going. I was originally going to USA with my girlfriend around this time, but we had to cancel that and I’ve always wanted to go to Nepal, so I’m trying to come up with something fairly short notice.

I’d also be up for doing Manaslu trek, but that needs min 2 people and a guide, so would have to get at least one other on board for that.

Hit me up if you’re going around the same time and want to team up 🙂 I’m not dead-set on the dates, but I do have my flights in and out of KTM the above dates, so of course the earlier I get on the trail the more time there is to trek.

  1. Hey Jussi, did you find a trekking partner yet? Im in Nepal right now and im planning a similar route as you. I want to go without guide and porter, but would be great to have some company. I did Annapurna base camp already, and some smaller trekks here and there. Give me a message if your up for going together and we’ll see what hsppens 🙂

  2. I’ve just arrived in Kathmandu yesterday and also looking to do this route. I’m flexible with leaving dates so drop me a message if your still looking for a trek partner.
