Everest Base Camp Trek

Latest [Jan 07,2016] – Have VISA issues, so travel plan is put on Hold!

Planning to trek Everest Base Camp in March (Mar 12 – March 26, ex KTM). Low budget, do/plan it yourself, enjoy the scene trip. We shall hire a local porter to carry our luggage and help as needed. We shall rent the items in KTM and Namche, and follow Dingboche route to base camp. We can plan other (Gokyo lake) route to return if we decide to.

I am (age 32, M) from Bihar in India, so will understand the local language (but can speak Hindi and English only). Looking for 1 or 2 more partners to trek together. Flexible with plan, feel free to contact.

  1. Hi Vikas,

My name is John. I am looking to trek to EBC around March and would like a partner to trek with. Just to get your plan clear, you are planning on flying from KTM to Lukla and hike up through Namache and Digboche to EBC?

About myself: I am 25 years old from the US. I am starting medical school in August of 2016 and have plenty of time between now and then, so I am very flexible with plans. It also means that as a student I would prefer to travel on a budget. I have done plenty of hiking in the Austrian alps (I used to have Austrian dual citizenship) but this will be my first time in Nepal. Let me know if you would be interested in trekking together.

    • Wonderful John. Looks great!

I am currently in Los Angeles, will be going to Delhi in first week of March to attend a marriage (Mar 10). Plan is – Mar 12, I will fly into KTM. Rent the necessary things. Mar 13, first flight to Lukla. Hire a porter… and then Trek ahead to EBC. Total it would take 12 days (ex Lukla). But since we are independent, we can take our own time to take rest or go fast (as our body suggest, together).

I am excited to get a response. Let me know if you need any help.

    • John, if you wish, you can contact on my email [omitted by moderator to protect privacy].

  2. Departure date Ex-KTM is updated to Feb 24.

  3. Hi Vikas, seems interesting. Let me know if there’s any spot and your detailed itinerary. Thanks, Abi

    • Hi Abhishek, Sorry for late reply. I could confirm as I am having VISA issues, waiting for it to be cleared.

I have my flight tickets to Delhi done, but if VISA issue persist than wont be able to travel. Keeping my fingers crossed.

    • * typo ‘I could NOT confirm’

  4. Hi!
My name is Pablo (Paul), I’m 28 and I’m from Spain.
I have my flight to Kathmandu on Feb 22.

I’ll rent some stuff in KTM and then flight to Lukla. I would like to hike the Gokyo valley, Cho La pass, EBC, Kala Patthar then head down to Lukla through the classic EBC route.

I’m a photographer, so I would like to have a placid trek, maybe share a porter with two more guys (5 to 7 KG each).

My budget is tight, but I don’t like excessive suffering 😀
