This Kathamandu outskirt day hike takes you up to the north to Chisapani in the beginning and to the east to Sanga the next day. Breathtaking mountain views, the pristine forests, and typical rural areas lie on the way—supplying with not only the little exercise to your muscle but also the refreshing breath and experience off the clean mountain air and unsophisticated country life.
The hike starts with a drive to Sundarijal, a popular picnic spot to the north of Kathmandu valley. Then you make a leisurely walk for about 4 hours to Chisapani, a very popular Tamang village. The village offers outstanding sceneries of Dorje Lakpa and Everest range. We spend a night here, wake up early in the morning to see the superb sunrise and take a hike to Sanga via Lapsiphedi. This is again an exciting day, alternating the scenes of Kathmandu valley with the Himalayam Mountains in the north and valleys to the east of Kathmandu. In the evening, a van will pick you up from Sanga. All the better if you want to spend your night there.
