Hiking in Ukraine – Chornogora Mountain range

Hi there,

I am looking for one or more experienced trekking partner(s) for hiking in September 2019 the Chornogora Mountain range. The route is aprox. 45-50 km. Usually it takes apx. 6 days with no rush to do it.

It is a self-sufficient tour in terms of camping, food, cooking etc. You will be carrying your own hiking and camping equipment with your own tent and all your food. For water you need a filter system.

The Chornogora range is by-far the most well-known and visited area in Carpathians. It’s the place to find Ukraine’s highest peaks, and beautiful crystal lakes. It contains a 20-kilometre-long section whose average elevation is 2,000m. Mount Hoverla at 2061m is the highest point in both the Chornohora and Ukraine.

I was told by an Ukrainian that the Chornogora rangeit is the place where they go for weekends, for trail running, and to celebrate some events. The place where rich traditions are from.

We will meet in the city Lviv and travel together to Zaroslyak tourist camp, near to the village of Vorokhta. You can reach Lviv by train or plane. At Zaroslyak Tourist camp we start the trail to Mt. Hoverla (Ukraine’s highest mountain at 2061 m).
