Kathmandu – Pikey Peak – Kathmandu

Pikey Peak Trek for 9 days:

The ‘Pikey Peak Trek’ is a newly opened Home-stay style trekking in the lower Everest region. It is quite remote area where a few trekkers do trekking each year. Pikey Peak is also culturally rich trekking where you can see ancient monasteries, Mani walls and Stups etc. This trek offers majestic views of Everest, Kanchenjanga, Makalu, Ama Dablam, Mera Peak, Gauri Shanker and Nambur Himal to the North and deep valleys dropping away into the clouds to the South from Pikey Peak at 4067m. You can enjoy the breath-taking Sunrise and Sunset views from Pikey Peak. The legend: Sir Edmund Hillary himself claimed it his favorite view of Everest from Pikey Peak. The Sherpas believe that their clan god is living at Pikey Peak where the locals get to gather to worship/praying during the month of July.

Dhudh Kunda is a scared Lake in the lower Everest region. There is Shaman dance festival at the Lake in the full moon August each year.

There can find different types of Rhododendrons that blooms in the forest in April/May. This trek is also rich in Himalayan flora and fauna etc.

The ‘Pikey Trek’ begins with a bus ridge from Kathmandu to Jiri to Shivlaya in a day. Then, trek to Pikey Peak is lined with beautiful settlements and breath-taking views. All fun ends after fly or drive out to Kathmandu from Phaplu/Salleri.

Itinerary:

Day 1: International Airport pick up in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Trek briefing, preparation and visit Boudhanath Stupa in the afternoon.
Day 3: Kathmandu to Jiri to Shivalaya by bus 6-7hrs.
Day 4: To Bandar 2190m/6hrs.
Day 5: To Goli (Gomba Danda) 2980m/7hrs.
Day 6: To Pikey Peak Base Camp 3640m/5hrs.
Day 7: To Pikey Peak to see Everest and many other mountains around and then to Banjyang 3500m/2hrs.
Day 8: To Juni Besi 2700m/5hrs and visit village.
Day 9: Visit to Thupten Chholing (ancient monastery) 3000m and back to Juni Besi 3 to 4hrs.
Day 10: To Phaplu 2469m/4-5hrs.
Day 11: To Kathmandu by bus 6-7hrs.

Group size: 6 pax.

Cost includes :

1) International Airport pick up and departure.
2) Two nights accommodation (Standard double or twin bed room with breakfast).
3) Gaurishanker hiking entry fees.
4) Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) card (Trekking permit).
5) Kathmandu to Jiri to Shivalaya by bus.
6) Teahouse meals for clients: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with tea or coffee during the trekking days. Meals can be selected from Menu and will have enough while on trekking.
7) Accommodation during the trekking days.

9) Three times meals and daily salary for guide and porters.
10) Phaplu to Kathmandu bus tickets for clients, guide and porters.
