Langtang Valley Trek
Hello there. My name is Joe and I’m a doctor from London currently working in A&E (Emergency Medicine). I’ve got two weeks annual leave starting on 7th Oct and hoping to do the Langtand Valley Trek in around 7/8 days. I’m looking for a partner or partners who would like to join me without a guide. I’ve contacted a number of travel agencies in Nepal and it seems the trail is up and running again since the end of last year and the tea/guest houses have either been repaired or rebuilt. It seems like a well trodden path and a guide won’t be necessary. However, I’m conscious of the circumstances following the earthquake so plan to stay in guest houses and eat in a number of restaurants along the way to contribute financially to the people who have been directly affected even if it’s only in a small way.
I’ve recently hiked the Kungsleden Trail in Sweden this July so in reasonable shape and try to keep active with triathlons. The issue is the altitude sickness since one can’t predict how it will affect someone and has no bearing on one’s level of fitness. I’ve been to La Paz and have done the Inca Trail in the past and wasn’t affected by the altitude back then.
I’ve never hiked in the Himalayas before so thought it would be prudent to hike with someone for the trek. If interested please drop me a line firstname.lastname@example.org or on here. New to this site.
I have booked my flights and will arrive in KTM on 8th and start the hike on the 9th Oct.
