Manaslu Circuit Trek

I am a 69 year old Englishman leaving Kathmandu on 17th March 2017 and returning 4th April. I am on an organised trek with a guide and porter. Rest days at Samaguan, Samdo and Bimtang. I am more than happy to walk on my own having spent 6 weeks on the Haute Route Pyrenees on my own. I am relatively fit but aim to take it relatively easy as it it almost 40 years since I was at 5000 metres. A partner would mean saving the cost of a ghost permit.

  1. Hey Richard!

I plan on arriving in Kathmandu on March 10th with hopes of trekking Manaslu Circuit. Start dates are very flexible and pace will be relaxed. Do you have an estimate on the cost for guide/porter service? At the very least I would be willing to sign up for a permit at the same time to save costs.

    Thanks!
    Randy

    • About $1400 if not paying for a ghost permit. If interested but don’t want to pay so much, you could contact the agent Wilderness Excursions and see if they can do something.

  2. I would be interested in joining you if still going. Those are the dates I am looking for. I am 48 and would enjoy a slow pace in general. I am in no hurry.

  3. I suggest you contact Pradip at Wildernessexcursions.com. Email is info@guideinhimalaya.com. I would be very happy to walk with you.

  4. Would anyone like to split a private car to Aarughat? I have already arranged Guide and porter service but found the transportation cost to be quite high. My plan is to leave KTM on the 16th or 17th by either local bus/private car/or any other type of transport that might be available.
