Manaslu Circuit Trek

Hi, I am planning for a trip to Nepal in Oktober/November 2018 and want to do the Manaslu Circuit, maybe with Tsum Valley, both up to 22 days. I have a guide already, who is also a porter. We can give him our backpacks and carry them ourselves in taking turns. He charges 30 $ a day (including his accomodation), which we could share. I did the Annapurna Circuit together with him last year, up to 5.413 mtrs. and he did an excellent job as he is very experienced guiding tourists in high altitude. I am an elder lady (59 yrs.) and want to walk slow motion, enjoying the view and the stories, my guide has to tell. If you are not so much interested in athletic trekking, but like to learn about the life and the culture in the himal region, we could be a great team. I am planning to reach Kathmandu on the 5th of October and we could start some days later. I am looking forward to receive your message.

  2. Heya!

I’m an Australian recently touched down in Nepal looking to explore by foot as much as possible over the next three months. I’ve just booked a two week trip (with a lovely older guide Tisbar) through Langtang and Gosainkind. I’ll likely be back in Kathmandu around the 11th of October and would be really keen to join your Manaslu trip then. Wondering whether that plan is still on your cards and if you have connected with any other crew? I like to do alot of sketching and contemplating so whilst I can move quickly my overall average pace is fairly slow. I am also about to begin a week of intensive Nepali language lessons and and very keen on the idea of a cultural trip.

A quick bit about me, I’m an architect specialising in sustainable and small dwellings back in Melbourne. I have also just cycled 6,000ks across Aus and will probably continue on toward Prague after this Himalayan sojourn (my mother is Czech). You can checkout my instagram at ramblinghome if you like.

Anyway, all the best, let me know if you want to organise something. My dates are very massagable, I could be back a few days earlier if needed.

    Warmest,
    Dan

  3. Hi Rita,
My name is Daniel Frankl and I was looking to do the Manaslu trek in the same period as you and I’m looking to find a like-minded trekking partner. I’m 61 years old traveling alone but I’m in a serious relationship. I live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands for the past 30 years but I originally come from the US. I’m now traveling for a half year on sabbatical from my university teaching job. I’ve been to the Nepal several times before for climbing and trekking (although the last time was in 2002) and have trekked on several of the classic routes. I am a fit mountain walker but my attitude is more toward enjoyment than ambition. I just arrived in Kathmandu today and will be visiting friends here before arranging permits and a guide and setting out on the trek. Let me know your thoughts – I presume that if you search my name and “Amsterdam” in either Facebook or LinkedIn you’ll find my profiles.
    All the best,
    Daniel
