Manaslu Circuit Trek

Hey fellow trekkers! I’m keen to complete the Manaslu Circuit, possibly including the Tsum Valley. I’m a Canadian completing an around the world trip. I’m down in Africa now (so apologize if my responses back are delayed) and will be flying into Kathmandu on Nov 21. Am always open and flexible, but will be looking to start hiking on the 24th or so. I crave adventure, have a high level of fitness, and moderate level of trekking experience. Happy trails.

  1. Hi,
I’m looking for a partner for the Manaslu trek as we need to be min 2 to have a permit. And maybe a guide is mandatory too.
I’m doing the Annapurna from November 5th til the 20-22nd. And then ready to start the Manaslu.
    We could do it together?

  2. Hey,
I’m also looking to do the manaslu trek starting around that time (Nov.22-23) as I am flying out from Kathmandu on Dec. 12. I’ve read great things about tsum Valley so I’d love to add it in as well ( as long as the dates fit and time permits).
I’m also Canadian (polish-canadian) and have been travelling around for past 14months, love hiking and adventures but also appreciate the peace and quiet of the nature.

    • Hey Ela! It sounds like a meet up ~ maybe on the 23rd of Nov could work. I’ve been talking to a tour operator, that my friends have travelled with previously, and they could be keen to take us.

    • Please reach me via email at Lauren.Wallace[at]shaw.ca to discuss. After Nov 6th, I’ll be offline until Nov 20th. Yeeeew! Could be fun.

  4. Heyyy guys, sorry to butt in, but could I ask where you all got to on this in your discussions/planning? 🙂 I’m planning to do the Manaslu circuit too, and have 2 friends flying into KTM on the 22nd, so our dates will probably all be around the same. We could always meet up for a meal or a drink in KTM if nothing else, just for the good company and to share tips/info – you girls both sound like awesome go-getters; I’ve also been travelling around the world more or less for the last 2.5 years, and have sought out mountains and trails where-ever possible – just let me know! Look forward to hearing from ya :))

  5. Sorry, but i won’t do it anymore. I heard mixed review from guides. Some said it’s possible , other it’s to difficult because there has been some broken bridges.
I am in the Annapurna circuit now and I meet some trekkers coming back from the Manaslu trek they told me it took them longer than expected and a lot of detour up and down because of the broken bridge.

If you haven’t done the Circuit, it’s a good time to do it. There is really few walker.

  6. Hey Céline, thanks so much for your response (especially if I understand you correctly, from while you’re underway on the AC?!) – well it’s great news that you’re enjoying the AC, not so great news what you’ve heard about Manaslu… although I really shouldn’t be surprised…. I’ve also heard about the extensive damage there unfortunately was from the earthquake. I’ll have to ask around a bit more. I can imagine the circuit must be great now, but I did it 3 years ago, and was really hoping to do something different this time! But I’ll look into it. Enjoy the trek!!!! Take care 🙂

  7. Hey Jacquelin,
I haven’t made any plans with Lauren yet, and because I have already booked my flight out of Nepal I decided to do a shorter trek because the manaslu itinerary seems a bit unpredictable atm, and I don’t want to be under time pressure during the trek.

From the info Lauren posted she’s flying in to Nepal today so she’ll probably have some internet access later on in the day. I really hope the trek works out for both of you and you can do it together!

I’ll be in Thamel tomorrow so I’d be happy to meet up:)

  8. Hey lauren, im not sure i could be any later in replying but i am getting into katmandu on the 23rd and hope to start trekking as soon as possible, let me know if your still looking for a trekking partner twstoops(at)gmail(dot)com

  9. Hi guys! So great to hear from others interested in trekking. I’m in Thamel now ~ regrouping after some busy times in Africa. I’d totally be down for connecting~ maybe sometime tomorrow (Nov 23) to talk trekking options. We could do the Himalayan Jave Cafe in Thamel in the afternoon? Let me know if this is a possibility. Tom, what time do you arrive?

    • Lauren and Tom!
I’m in Thamel also and would be great to meet today if it works – Himalayan Java sounds good but what time? Hope to hear from you! 🙂 Jacqui (email: rafewinter at gmail dot com). +977 9818176534
