Markha Valley Trek

Looking for partners to do Markha Valley Trek in mid July for about 8 days. This is a pretty straightforward trek, so no need for a tour guide. This trek provides combinations of hiking and landscapes with people and culture by incorporating homestays with families in villages along the way.

Budget: Homestays ~1000 INR, Tents ~1200 INR + cost of shared jeep to Chilling and back to Leh (~1000)

Possible Trekking Itinerary (Chilling Start)
Day 1: Chilling to Skiu
Day 2: Skiu – Markha
Day 3: Markha-Hankar
Day 4: Hankar -Nimaling
Day 5: Nimaling- Shang Sumdo
optional climb of trekking peak Stok Kangri 6153m (20,182ft), the easiest non-technical 6000m+ peak in India

I just finished Annapurna circuit in Nepal last month and now I’m excited to on an another trekking adventure. Please contact me if you are interested!

  1. Hi Nita,
I am also planning Markha valley trek followed by Stok Kangri in August 2nd week this year. Last year I started from Zingchen and went up to Kanda La en-route to Markha valley but had to come back from Kanda La due to time constraint so i’m planning to complete these two treks this year.
We can connect if you are flexible with your schedule.
