Mera Peak and Everest Base Camp

Hello perspective adventure seekers!

I am looking for people who want to team up for the trip of a lifetime, going from Lukla Airport to Everest Base Camp and back to summit the north peak of Mera (6476m/21,246ft). The basic itinerary I have so far is as follows. I am open to ideas/changes/other routes. My primary aim is to find people who want to not just see EBC, but also summit a peak over 20,000 feet yet remain at or below a D difficulty.

1 Lukla Airport
2 Monju to Namche
3 Namche Bazaar
4 Namche Bazaar
5 Namche to Tengboche
6 Tengboche to Pangboche
7 Pangboche to Periche
8 Periche to Lobuche
9 Lobuche to Gorak Shep
11 HIKE Kala Patthar
12 Gorak Shep to Pangboche
13 Dingboche to Namache
14 Namache to Maniju
15 Moniju to Chutanga
16 Spare day for ???
17 Tuli Kharka
18 Tashing Ongma
19 Tangnag
20 Khare
21 Khare
22 Mera La
23 High Camp
23 Summit Mera
24-7 return to Lukla

Again, I am open to ideas, and this appears to be the ideal time to go.

A bit about myself:
I am a Californian hailing from a long distance hiking background. Nepal and the Himalayas have always been atop my bucket list, and the opportunity has presented itself, so I am making the most of it.

  1. Hi Jordan I’m Hasse from Sweden,I’m gonna b in Nepal at that time probably heading for Island or Mera, now just some friendly advice: 😉 if I were u i’d bus it to Jiri and walk from there to Lukla, and after Mera I wld definately walk from Lukla down the Arun valley to Hile! The in/out treks to and from Lukla are really nice, and I’ve stood at the Luka airstrip watching the planes land and take off and man is that some scary shit!! 😀 As always it’s all about time,if u’ve got lots of time u should add a sidetrip to Gokyo to my little itinerary,it’s awesome up there, hope u have a good weekend greetings from Sweden!!

  2. G’day Jordan,

I’m an Aussie who was planning to do a trek/climb very similar to that and unfortunately can’t find anyone from home to come along. So I’d be very interested in joining you? Have you made any further developments?

  3. Hi, I am looking at Mera or similar peak around that time but am on a tight schedule. I will be in Kathmandu from the afternoon of the 22nd April and departing flight would be 9th April so wouldnt have time to do EBC as well. If you were considering a change to your itinerary, get in touch!
