Nepal

Hi my name is Tyler and i’m a 25 year old from the United States. I’m looking for a small group of people to trek the Annapurna Circuit as a team, ideally without a guide. If others in the group are interested in that I would be fine with it, but would prefer to find our own way.

I will be starting to trail early on Saturday October 14th, and my flight leaves from Kathmandu on the 27th. Depending on what gets planned before hand, I could potentially start the 13th if needed.

I’m most likely planning to take a bus from Jomson back towards Kathmandu to cut the trip short as needed, but would like to keep up a fairly good pace.

  1. Hey Tyler,
I started to chat with Piotr & Pawel and they sent me your link. Looks like we all have a similar game plan and could potentially join forces. Are you guys thinking about doing the whole Annapurna Circuit or The Annapurna Sanctuary? I am kind of leaning towards the Annapurna Sanctuary because it gets up closer to the mountain bases, but my decisions can be swayed. Are you flying in to Kathmandu? I am going to get my tickets in the next couple of days. I look forward to hearing from you! 🙂

    • Hi Emmy! I think a fourth to round out our group would be great! It will be difficult for me to leave Kathmandu earlier than the 14th, as my flight arrives at noon on the 12th.

My flight out of Kathmandu is on the 27th, so I really need to be back on the 26th. I am fine cutting things short at Jomsom, so I would be open to extending a separate part of the trek, but those are the restrictions I’m dealing with.

Also, how do you feel about getting a guide? I am relatively inexperienced when it comes to trekking in that area, though I am fairly confident on my general ability. Looking forward to hearing back, it’s exciting to have prospective trekking partners!

    • Hi Emmy. I added a msg to Tyler’s thread but thought I’d send it directly to you as well.

If you guys have room for one more, that’d be great. I’m pretty low key, and might even want to change up my pace for a bit of solo time, but as a smart, female traveler, I know it’s best to know a few other folks heading out at the start.

Hi Guys! I am a Canadian, solo female traveler, 36 yrs, in decent shape and wanting to do the Annapurna circuit, or most of it. I arrive in Kathmandu Oct 12 afternoon, so I plan to catch a bus Oct 14 morning to Besi sahar or Bhulebule. I need to be back in Kathmandu Oct 31. I did Gokyo Ri in 2014 as a 28 day trek from Shivalaya, and it was amazing. Did that with a porter/guide bc it was my first time, but I think we a group of a few people, we could figure it out without a guide. Also open to splitting cost of a guide if we want the security for the high altitude pass.

  2. Hi guys, I just returned from ABC so if you want to trek cheapest and the best, just shoot an email to me. I will provide you with the best guide at affordable prices.

  3. Hello Tyler and Emmy,
It seems our plans are almost the same.
We arrive on Oct 12th late night. On 13th, we are gonna visiting Kathmandu, check our equipment and buy any necessary equipments.
We are going to start on 14th and finishing it in Pokhara on 26th without a guide or porter. Then Visiting Pokhara and Kathmandu for four days.
    My friend return flight is on Oct 30th. After her flight I’m gonna start another trekking;
Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes Trek plus three passes, starting from Jiri.
It would be very nice to do the trek together. Please let us know what you think.

    Thank you
    Mehrdad
