Nepal

Hello,

I have (rough) plans to travel to Nepal in October, I am thinking somewhere around the 9th. I am trying to decide if I want to do the whole Annapurna Circuit or the just do the Annapurna Base Camp. I will be I bit limited on time. Headed to India the very end of October so I will have anywhere from 10- 20 days. Probably depending on which trek I decide on.

Anyways I want to do it Independently but looking for trekking partners for safety reasons and just to have good, likeminded people to share the beauty with. I am experienced in trekking however I am currently recovering from a broken foot, I should be completely healed by this time but also need to take care of myself to prevent injuring it again, so someone who is willing to have a semi- easy pace would be appreciated. I am also on a very tight budget, so looking for people who want to struggle together, or support me if you insist (kidding).

ABOUT MYSELF: I am 24 years old. Currently living and teaching in Chiang Mai. I am very laid back, I love silence and taking in the moments and scenery but you can also expect the occasional inappropriate comment and laugh. I am from the U.S. (please don’t judge me because of this). I love animals and children and most people.

Anyways it would be cool to figure out the details soon, mostly for my moms peace of mind. Let me know your plans!

  1. Hi Emma,

From what I have been reading October is a fairly good season for the hike. You will meet a lot of fellow independent hikers along the path. I have never done the any trek in Nepal. This information is just hearsay and all the blogs and posts I have been reading to prepare myself for December.

  2. Hi Emma I will be in Kathmandu on Oct 6th. Let me know what’s your plan.

  3. Hey, Im planning to go to Annapurna Base Camp and have the same minds: don’t want to do touristic group trip but a bit worry about safety:) I was also thinking what to choose A. Circuit or Base Camp and after some reviews and blogs, I’ve decided that base camp will be enough for the first experience with Himalaya and if you don’t have a lot of time, also the Circuit is much harder. So I was thinking to start the trek on 6th (or 5th) October from Pokhara. Let me know if you are also ok with these dates to be in Pokhara)

  4. Hi. Im planning to trek to Annapurna base camp leaving Pokhara on the 9th, let me know if you’re around and need a partner. Like you Im aiming to go solo but happy for safety in numbers.

  5. Hey all, I am also planning to arrive around the 6th of October in Katmandu. After some days of sightseeing in the city (probably not more than 3 days) I thought about going to Pokhara for the Annapurna Circuit. Would be happy to have nice people around to share that experience! 🙂 Let me know, you will be around!

    • Hi Marie, I would be around Kathmandu at the same time, would love to meet up with you.

  6. I’m looking for a small trekking group. Safety in numbers and just sharing the experience with. Will be ready to leave Katmandu Oct 8th am. Strong hiker, team player, 52yr old from Canada.
Tickets already purchased, departure date is Oct 31.
    Paul

  7. Hi! I’m also planning to do the Annapurna Base Camp and possibly combining it with the Poon Hill on the way back, if I still have power to do so. I want to do the trek independently but I believe it’s safer to do it with a partner or with a group of independent trekkers. My budget is quite low too, so I’m in for struggling together! I’m not a very experienced hiker and I would like to keep it rather in a semi- easy pace. I want to start on the 10th of October but I’m flexible with the date. Let me know if you still need a partner. Bests, Oz

  8. I am planning on getting started on the trek around the 11th or 12 th . This may be too late for you but lemme know .

  9. if you want to discuss about the plans itinerary and costs about the trekking please let me know im In Nepal from Nepal professional guide and photographer. facebook.com/blinkbeezom whatssap or viber +9779823498293

  10. I see this thread is very active. I am planning to trek around in Nepal starting October 7th. I am from India and living in Italy. I am looking to do independent (without poter or guide, for the cost reasons). I will love to camp around and trek and explore nature. Would love to avoid the touristic routes. I will be in Nepal for two months. So anyone looking for a partner (I am looking for one 🙂 ) to trek please let me know. Best, Udaya

  11. Hello fellow adventurers,
I will arrive in Kathmandu on the 7th of October and intend to do the whole Annapurna Circuit in about 20 – 25 days (Teehouse) including taking days off for side trips ( Monasteries, Temples and whatever incredible) and maybe a rest day to get acclimatized to the altitude. I would like to get started around the 12th to have some time for Kathmandu and surroundings. Who ever wants to to some sites together contact me. I am 21 years old (male) , from the Alps in Bavaria ( Germany) and just created this account that’s why there isn’t a picture yet. 😉
I am extroverted and a fairly sensitive person. I enjoy reading ( Philosophy), sports and very deep conversation. I would say I am capable of medium pace on longer distances and fast on short. I am happy to slow down though. I intend to stay in Nepal till mid December, so I am not in a rush. I am looking for 2 people or more for safety reasons and cool experiences. 🙂
If anyone is interested I would like to Skype to check if we click as humans.
Hope you all find trekking buddies!

  13. Hi Emmy, sounds like a plan. It’ll be my first time and I’m very excited about it. It’s been my dream all along to do this.

  14. Hi there, we’re a group of 3 guys (2x Polish, 1x American) going to trek part of Annapurna Circuit. We’re starting in KTM on the 13th Oct, reaching Chame on the 14th (bus+jeep) and ending up in Jomsom on the 24th at the latest. We also consider a side trek to Tilichio Lake if time & strenght allow.

We’re looking for more trekking partners so if you’re heading in the same direction in similar dates, do hit us up.

    Safe travels,
    Piotr, Pawel and Tyler
