  1. Hello, Ketan.

Your schedule is almost identical as mine. I also plan to do the Stok Kangri trek on September 2nd – 9th (that’s apparently the schedule that I found on several trekking companies). Are you planning to do it independently as in without trekking company?

I actually plan to join one of the scheduled trek, not decided on which agency yet but since I’m going in solo it would be nice to have company. I’m not really flexible with the dates since I have booked the ticket, so if our schedules matched maybe I can join you.

    • Hello Ruth

My dates are not fixed yet as i have some planing in jun also & i think solo trekkers are not allow in this trek any more as in 2016 season one of my friend went solo & he have to back from stok base camp,

so we have to join trekking company or have to hire a local guide
      compulsory.
      .
as of now one of my friend with his 3 friend is also planing for the same so now we are may be planning for it,

will let you know once the things fixed.

      Thanks

  2. Hi Ketan,

do you already have a trekking company in mind? I have looked up a view but not sure which one to go with. They all seem to have similar schedule and cost. If you have any recommendation do let me know okay.

I have managed to get 2 more of my friends to join me. So once you and your friends are fixed, we can go together.. The more the merrier 🙂

  3. Hi Ruth

  5. Hey Ketan!
If there is still a slot left, will it be fine if I join you guys?
I have some experience with ladakh as I’ve been there once on a road trip.
    feel free to contact me.

    Cheers!

    • hello vikaram
it seems your last visit to ladakh was a road trip & this would be a trek for 6 to 7 days above 6000MTR from sea level,
so am not aware that you have any past experience in trekking in high altitude,

don’t take me wrong but this trek require a bit exp in trekking & if you have been done in past then yes we have a slot for you also.

      Cheers

I understand there have been quite a many deaths and injuries last year on Stok compared to previous years. due to changing weather conditions. But, I do not have concrete data to support that rumour at the moment. However, That information is from a friend working in the trekking arena.
Beware guys ! Be safe. Cheers.

  7. Hi Ketan, I’m planning to do the markha valley trek and I’m reading about Stok summit and I’m thinking about it. I’m a trekker, I do trekking in the Italian Alps (last week I was in one of the summit of the Rosa Mountain at 4200MTR from sea level) but I did’t try Himalaya trekking in the past. Did you already book a guide? Is alredy slot available? tks Fabio

  8. @Fabio I am doing Markha from 27 Aug – 1 Sept. Let me know if you wish to join
