Three Passes Trek

Hey everyone, I will do the everest 3 passes trek with a friend starting from october 22nd. We’ll arrive in Lukla on the 22nd and will first look for a porter/guide there to carry our shared heavy backpack. We’ll carry a small backpack ourselves. we estimate we can do the trail in 16 days, but we have a buffer to do it in 18 days before we fly back. Anyone who is interested on joining (or partly joining) this once in a lifetime journey, feel free to contact us :-).

Cheers,
Jan And Jacob (Belgium)

  1. Hey guys
Looking to do the three passes around the same time as you, I am a solo Australian traveller. Have you planned an itinerary? My budget may be a bit less than yours but I would be keen to tag along, let me know your thoughts
    Thanks
    Alex

    • Hey Alex, Sorry for the slow reply.

Our budget is a maximal estimate, I think it will be less, but it also includes the cost of our porter.
Our itinerary looks a bit like this. Arrival at Lukla on the 22th. That day we will look for a porter guide and as as soon as we find one we would start the trek (so on the day itself or the morning of the next day). In 5 days we would arrive in Chukung and from Chukun we might make a side day trip to Amphu Lapcha. On day 8 we would go to everest base camp and we would arrive in Gokyo on day 11 where we will stay 3 nights to some side trips. Then we will return back to Lukla (maybe a side trip to the arya valley if we have time to spare). I think the whole trek would take 16 days, but maybe we’ll do it in 18.

You’re welcome to tag along or for part of the trip. Just let us know.
      cheers,
      Jan

  2. Hi,

My wife and I plan to start with a trek from Shivalaya to Lukla on the 16th October and on the 23st from Lukla we’ll start Three passes trek. If you are interested we can meet in KTM and see if we fit togehther 🙂

  3. Hi Uros & Agnes,

Shivalaya to Lukla must be great to do (if only we had more time :-)). We will actually only arrive in KTM on the 21st and will fly into Lukla on the 22th. We might already start the trek on the 22th. But maybe we can already meet in Lukla and have a chat there?

    Cheers,

    • Jan hi,

Sorry for the delay, but we’ve been very busy last days here in KTM. Tomorow morning we are leaving KTM and on sunday start trekking from Shivalaya. If everything go as planned, will arrive to Lukla the same day as you. Get in touch when you will be there. My nepalese number is ‭+977 9818135102‬.

      All the best,
      Uros

  4. Hey Jan

That sounds pretty identical to my thoughts on the trek, I would be keen to tag along if you guys are up for it, we can meet in Kathmandu if you want to sort things out first. What date is your flight back to Lukla?
    Cheers
    Alex

  5. Also I didn’t realise you replied so I currently have a confirmed flight to Lukla on the 20th but it will take me 6 days to get to Chukung with a rest day on the 7th day so we could meet up there? Is there another easy way to contact you guys?
    Cheers

    Alex

  6. Hey Alex, I guess you’ll have a 2 days head start then as we take the plane to Lukla on the 22nd. Hmm an easy way to stay in contact :-). We could try to meet in Chukung at a certain location on your day 7 at a certain time. If we are already in Chukung we’ll be there and if you already continued to the next part of your trek, we’ll notice it. What do you think? 🙂

    Cheers,
    Jan
