Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit

Hi,

Anybody interested in joining us (Wolfgang + Yoan) on a trip to Tsum Valley and around Manaslu?
We would like to do a few side trips (e.g. Mu Gompa, Lungdang Gompa, Kal Tal, Hinang Gompa – Himalchuli Base camp, Manalsu Base Camp, Rui La ) if strength and weather permits, therefore the itinerary seems longer than normal.

There will be costs for permits (35 US$ for Tsum – 8 days, 70 US$ for Manaslu – 7 days + 50-60 US$ for extra 5-6 days, 20 US$ for TIMS-Card, 20 US$ for MCAP and 20 US$ for ACAP) and for a guide. I don’t need a porter but would be willing to share costs for one. As transport we use public buses.

I have already contact to a local trekking agency.

We start on Sept 17th and would be back by Oct 12th the latest.
For those interested I can supply more detailed information on a possible itinerary and contacts.

Cheers Wolfgang

  1. Good evening Wolfgang,

I’ll be arriving in Kathmandu in early Spetember and will wander around Nepal cities for a bit before starting my 3 months of trekking (necessary time also to let the skies clear up a maximum). I intend to start with the Manaslu trek (Tsum Valley, Manaslu BC and, I didn’t think about that one, but the Rui La sounds like a wonderful side trip) and I would need to be back in Kathmandu before the 15th of October so your dates are perfect when it comes to me. I’m not looking for porters neither but would be curious to know how much a guide can cost for the Manaslu Trek; also, could you tell me more about your planned itinerary?
    Thank you,
Let me know if you’re interedted and don’t hesitate to ask questions if you have.

  2. Hi Both,

I’m landing in Kathmandu on 18th September, will be ready to leave for a trek on the 19th. Keen to do the Manaslu circuit on a lowish budget – staying in teahouses / homestays etc.

I only have 2 weeks for the trek so won’t be able to fit in many ‘side hikes’. I need to be back in Kathmandu by September 6th.

Let me know if either of you are interested? Thanks,

    Rich

    • Hi Rich,
Sorry, we fixed the trek now, leaving on Sept 17th for more than 20 days. Maybe we meet, when we come down from Tsum valley and continue on the Manaslu circuit.

      Wolfgang

    • Hi Boguslav,

It’d be cool if we can meet somewhere in Thamel. I’m not in Kathmandu at the moment but I will be back on Monday afternoon. We could have a coffee early on Tuesday morning and, if our plans click, you could come with me to the agency and meet the guide that will accompagny us for the trek.
How does it sound to you?
      Yoan
