Upper Mustang Trek – Ten

Hello! I am currently planning to attend he Tiji Festival in May 2015. The details have yet to be nailed down, but I plan to be in Jomsom on the 9th of May at which point I will be heading into Upper Mustang. I have trekked Nepal before and was on the Annapurna Circuit in April-May 2014 when I used a guide who I plan to use again. I will not be hiring a porter. I live in California, so I am used to relatively technical narrow mountain trails, but the altitude of Upper Mustang will admittedly be a factor. My goal is to simply make it safely to Lo-Manthang for the Festival at an enjoyable pace. I welcome anyone interested in the challenge and cultural significance of the trip. Feel free to contact me and who knows…maybe I’ll see you in Kagbeni!

  1. Your trek sounds great. I did a trek to Everest Base Camp last summer and fell in love with Nepal…albeit with a porter. How much is this going to cost you, and how much gear will you need to carry i.e. would you need to bring a tent or are there tea houses in upper Mustang?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

  2. Hi Chris I have a guide friend in Kathmandu who took to myself and others on a Nepal to Tibet and Mt Kailash kora trip a couple of years ago. Am keen to do Upper Mustang this year. Need at least one other in order to book dates and commit.

Happy to use your contacts if better for you

    Kind Regards Jeff

  3. Hey Chris, you still looking for people for this trek? I’d be interested. let me know.

  4. Hi Chris, i am looking for someone to trek with to upper mustang, i will probably walk to jomson rather than fly, so wonder whether you would be interested in meeting in jomson to continue from there? I trekked to ABC and lower mustang in 2013
