Upper Mustang , Upper Dolpo, Post-Monsoon 2013, dates flex –
Hey guys! Starting this thread for Upper Mustang (to Lo Manthang) for the Post-Monsoon season (September 2013 onwards) – The area is under “Restricted Permits” with a fee of $50/day for 10 days, Minimum 2 persons on the permit.
- I would like to do it as a part of the Annapurna Ckt (i.e. start the walk from Besi Shehar) & pick up the guide at Kagbeni on an appointed date & do it as a tea-house trek to Lo Manthang & back to Kagbeni with 3-4 days of hanging out in Lo Manthang.
- I would also like to make the most of the being in the area and combine the Mustang Trek with the Kagbeni-Upper Dolpo trek (seperate $50/day for 10 days permit) – This would be a camping trek at least for the first few days & logistics would need to be figured out and handled rather efficiently, I presume.
Dates flexible, can plan further , please drop me a note – Trek #2 is optional at this point (but smth that’s rather close to my heart, despite the costs of permits etc!), but if you are interested for trek #1 (either as a part of Annapurna circuit or meeting up at Jomsom/Kagbeni), we can start figuring stuff out. I do not know of any travel agents in Kat (I did the Annapurna Sancturary as an indie trek in 2010), but I think we can figure something out sooner. I am a 30 year old guy, well traveled (been to 30+ countries in the past 4 years) & well-heeled (have trekked Ladakh, Zanskar and Spiti for 5 months last year)- I speak English, Hindi & Tamil. Looking for replies from serious trekkers who are well into their planning stages. No dilettantes, please! (P.S: If you are a travel agent in Kathmandu, please do not repond with an all-inclusive package tour itinerary – However, if you are willing to organize a permit and logistics for a fee, would love hear from you!) Regards, Pras.Reply
