Westweg trail Germany

Hello,

I am planning to hike the Westweg Trail in Germany in 2018. I am still researching it in terms of sleeping and food and stuff. But I want to do it as cheap as possible. My budget is a bit above the price we’re probably going to spend, but for me, it isn’t too expensive to travel to Pforzheim but for someone else maybe more, so I took that into account with the budget.

I am planning to do it in 2 weeks, a few days more will be no problem. Also, I am not that experienced yet. I am going to practice a lot before I go which is why I want to do it at the end of the summer.

As for languages, I can speak English without a problem and Dutch. I also know a little bit of German (Dutch and German are very similar) and by then I probably can speak a decent amount of French.

To get back to food. I am vegan, so I don’t eat any animal products at all. Which basically means it will be a lot cheaper too 😉 But I would appreciate it if, if you hike with me, you don’t eat lots of meat and stuff.

I probably forget to mention things so feel free to ask 🙂

  1. planning way in advance! good luck and enjoy 🙂

  2. Hi, Marloes. It’s a bit too far away for me to commit, but I may be interested in your hike. I live in Germany and speak German. I do lots of hiking in the Odenwald near Frankfurt am Main and blog in English about hikes and historical sites there. I’ll offer you a tip since you are going on the cheap (my favourite way to travel). Wild camping is not allowed in Germany, but sleeping in the covered shelters you find in the woods is a grey area and usually tolerated.
